About 'art design courses'|Art Gallery of NSW Character design course








The               majority               of               fashion               designing               schools               in               Pakistan               are               based               in               Lahore,               although               Karachi               is               also               a               major               center               for               textile               design.

There               are               a               variety               of               Bachelor's               and               Master's               level               programs               as               well               as               short               professional               courses               offered               at               design               institutes.

Pakistan               School               of               Fashion               Design               (PSFD)
               Founded               in               1995               by               Mr.

Abu               Shamim               Arif,               the               Pakistan               School               of               Fashion               Design               (PSFD)               is               located               on               Sunder               Das               Road               in               Lahore.

PSFD's               four-year               program               accommodates               about               100               students,               and               some               of               their               graduates               have               already               gone               on               to               make               it               big               in               the               fashion               world.

The               school's               affiliation               with               Les               Ecoles               de               la               Chambre               Syndicale               Parisienne               in               France               has               served               to               link               Lahore's               fashion               industry               with               Paris.
               Beaconhouse               National               University               (BNU)
               Pakistan's               first               four-year               liberal               arts               college,               Beaconhouse               National               University               in               Lahore,               offers               a               four-year               Bachelor               of               Design               in               both               textiles               and               jewelry.

Founded               in               2003,               the               university's               School               of               Art               &               Design               (SCAD)               has               quickly               become               a               popular               choice               for               aspiring               designers.

The               four-year               program               consists               of               136               credits,               and               applications               for               fall               admittance               are               due               by               mid-August.
               Hajvery               Fashion               Institute               of               Technology
               Also               located               in               Lahore,               Hajvery               University's               Fashion               Institute               of               Technology               offers               both               Bachelor's               and               Master's               level               programs               in               Textile               Design.

The               Bachelor               of               Fashion               Design               (BFD)               consists               of               eight               semesters               and               can               be               completed               in               three               to               four               years.

The               Master               of               Fashion               Design               (MFD)               consists               of               seven               semesters               and               can               be               completed               in               two               to               three               years.

Tuition               costs               average               40,000               rupees               per               semester.
               National               College               of               Arts               (NCA)
               NCA,               one               of               the               country's               premier               arts               institutions,               offers               a               four-year               Bachelor's               program               in               Textile               Design.

The               program               starts               with               a               one-year               foundational               program               to               give               all               students               a               broad               background               in               visual               and               creative               arts.

The               remaining               three               years               of               the               program               are               used               to               focus               specifically               on               textile               design.

Admissions               is               competitive.

Admissions               examinations               and               face-to-face               interviews               are               required.

Tuition               costs               start               at               600               rupees               per               month.
               STEP
               STEP,               located               in               Muslim               Town               facing               the               canal,               was               founded               by               a               U.K.

based               NGO.

It               offers               a               one-year               program               in               Foundations               of               Art               &               Design               as               well               as               shorter               programs               in               professional               development               for               fashion               designers.

For               students               who'd               like               to               dabble               in               the               fashion               industry               without               committing               to               a               four-year               degree               program,               STEP               is               a               good               place               to               start.
